A major in engineering is an interdisciplinary study of math, science, and business principles. Students learn how to design and conduct experiments, identify and solve problems, understand professional and ethical responsibility, and communicate effectively in general engineering courses. While scientists and inventors create new ideas, it is engineers who put these ideas into practise.
In Malaysia, the
engineering sector experienced the highest median salary growth between 2020
and 2021, and according to the most recent JobStreet Salary Report 2022,
engineering is among the top FOUR highest paying job in Malaysia. This data
demonstrates that engineering is a lucrative career that requires a distinct
set of skills.
Engineers are
professionals who have earned a degree recognised by the Washington Accord for
Engineers and are regulated and registered by the Board of Engineers Malaysia
(BEM). The Washington Accord aims to make professional engineers' mobility
easier. By recognising engineering degrees as equivalent in all signatory
countries, it makes it easier for engineers to obtain professional registration
in other countries, thereby increasing employment opportunities.
One of the private
universities with this accreditation is UNISEL. It is difficult to gain
admission to public universities; however, this problem can be solved by
enrolling in a private university with reasonable fees (such as UNISEL).
Engineering tuition at UNISEL is among the lowest of any private university.
